Manchester United is riding high after defeating rival Manchester City in a heated battle.

Robin Van Persie continued to score big goals and Wayne Rooney continued his scoring spree. In 12 games Rooney has now accumulated six goals and seven assists and questions about his status on the team in light of Van Persie's arrival have ceased. The two make up the dynamic offense that has helped Man U to a solid six point lead over second place Manchester City. With a 10 point lead over third place Chelsea, United has given themselves solid breathing room moving forward. The team is on a four game winning streak and has six wins and one loss at home.

Their opponent on Saturday will be 15th place Sunderland which has a record of five wins, seven draws, and six losses. They have won just once in eight away matches and have lost three and drawn four. With just 16 points, they are only one point away from a relegation spot, so they look for them to be aggressive on Saturday. Steven Fletcher leads them offensively with seven of their 17 goals.

Prediction: Man U should easily dispatch Sunderland at home. 2-0 Man United.
