Manchester City put the defense of their Championship in serious peril after losing last week's matchup with cross town rivals Manchester United.

City managed a heroic comeback from down 2-0 only to lose in the second minute of stoppage time on a Robin Van Persie goal. The loss put them six points behind United for the lead atop the Premier League standings. City has the second best defense in the league with only 14 goals against in 16 matches and their offense is extremely potent with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, and Sergio Aguero leading the way. The team has been unbeatable on the road with three wins and four draws away from home.

Their opponents on Saturday will be a struggling Newcastle United, which has a record of four wins, five draws, and seven losses. With just 17 points, they are only two points away from a relegation spot, so a win is essential for this squad. They are coming off a loss to Fulham and have lost five of their last six matches with just one win in seven. Demba Ba has been a consistent threat with 10 of the team's 23 goals.

Predictions: Manchester City should win this win one with relative ease. 3-1 Man City.
