Selling a staggering 21 million copies, Telltale's The Walking Dead is one of the biggest games of the last year, partly due to its stellar reputation as an episodic game that has appeared on pretty much every console available at this point. Now, Telltale has revealed a timeframe for the release of the second season of the game.

According to IGN, The Walking Dead Season Two will be released sometime in 2013 for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and iOS. Telltale also stated that the game will come to additional platforms later, but did not specify which ones will get the game. The game will again have five episodes released between 2013 and 2014. A season pass that will save users 10 percent on the game is available for pre-order on Steam. The developer also revealed that main character Clementine will return in Season Two, and will be playable for the first time.

Here is a brief description of the plot for the game provided by Telltale in their announcement for season two:

"[Season Two] will continue the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned at the outset of the undead apocalypse, now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive in a world gone mad. Now assuming the role of an ordinary child, players will struggle to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test their morals and control the flow of the story through their decisions and actions."

The CEO of Telltale, Dan Connors, also gave his opinion of the series and expressed his excitement for Season Two of the game:

"The terrifying nature of Robert Kirkman's world has allowed Telltale to push the boundaries of interactive drama in video games to a place that has had fans anxious to know what will happen next in this series. Today we can finally lift the veil, albeit only a little, on how this story will continue, and we'll soon be putting players in the shoes of a lead role that will challenge their expectations of how to survive in a world where no one can be trusted."

While there's no confirmed official release date right now for the first episode of Season Two of The Walking Dead, users can expect the episodes to start rolling out sometime in 2013, most likely around the holidays since the content is expected to last until 2014.
