Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 2 News: Clementine Returning to Series

Telltale was at Comic Con this weekend promoting the upcoming The Walking Dead: Season 2, and confirmed to IGN that one of the main characters from the first game will be returning, in addition to another character's story being expanded in the second set of episodes.

Clementine, who player's had to watch over and protect during the five episodes that made up the first season of the game, will have an appearance in the second set of episodes. It is unclear how important she will be to the plot of the sequel, and if she remains the focus of the game. In addition, the second set of episodes will explore what happened to the character of Kenny, the husband and father who appeared in some episodes of the game. Telltale refused to elaborate on what roles Clementine and Kenny will have, or if they will be included as cameos or full-fledged characters once again for the series.

Other than revealing Clementine's return to the series, it is unclear what the plot of the game will be. The main character will have to be different, due to the events of the first game, and The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC introduced many new characters into the game as well, meaning one of them might become the focal point of the game. It will be interesting to see how the old and new characters interact, especially considering that the options the player chooses in the first season and 400 Days will affect the story of the second season.

Telltale certainly aims to impress with The Walking Dead Season 2, and gamers have been given a small taste of what to expect from the 400 Days in terms of story for the upcoming game. Perhaps Telltale will have multiple protagonists for the episodic game like the DLC, or maybe they'll promote someone to solely main character status. Either way, gamers can expect the second set of episodes for the series to become available sometime in the fall. Telltale confirmed that the new episodes will appear on the PlayStation Vita at the same time as the PlayStation 3 version of the game, unlike the first season's episodes, which were delayed on the handheld console.
