In a few weeks, 60 contestants from around the world will compete for the crown and title to be named Miss Universe 2013.  The international beauty pageant will take place in Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, on Nov. 9 and be televised on both NBC and Telemundo.

One of the contestants competing this year is Yukimi Matsuo, who was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2013 at the 16th Miss Universe Japan beauty contest at the Tokyo International Forum Hall back in March. Now, the 25-year-old beauty will go on to represent Japan at the 62nd Miss Universe beauty contest and compete for the coveted crown currently held by Miss USA Olivia Culpo.

Not only is Matsuo beautiful, but she is a skilled cartoonist who models and dances.  According to the Miss Universe official website, she dreams of teaching people all over the world how to draw cartoons and finds drawing to be a wonderful way to express herself.

Earlier in her adolescence, she admits that she was bullied. However, she has used her trials and struggles as a source of encouragement for other women who she hopes to inspire to embrace their beauty and independence.

In addition, the Tokyo native is skilled in weight training, yoga, Chinese shadow boxing, belly dance and swimming.   She eats miso soup every day, her favorite native dish.

She says that her proudest accomplishment is depicting the image character for the Milano Manga Festival.
