In just a month, a new crowned beauty will be named Miss Universe 2013 in Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia, on Nov 9. The competition between 60 international beauty queens will kick off on Oct. 20-24.

A handful of the contestants have already developed a buzz, including former Miss World 2008 semi-finalist, Patricia Rodriguez.  Rodriguez, who will represent Spain in the competition, was only 16 years old when she won the crown as Miss Espana 2008.  According to the Miss Universe website, her interests include painting, playing the guitar and acting; however, she now focuses mostly on acting.

Another buzz-worthy contestant is Miss Philippines Ariella Arida who is on a winning streak of Top 5 placements after Venus Raj won the fifth place finish in Miss Universe 2010, reports the International Business Times. Arida was crowned by Miss Universe 2012 first runner up Janine Tugonon back in April.

Miss Haiti Mondiana J'hanne Pierre will also travel to Moscow to compete in the world renowned pageant. The 21-year-old model is 5' 9'' and 120 lbs and has appeared in several television commercials and made ​​various photo shoots in different parts of the country with famous photographers, according to The Sentinel. She was also elected Miss Elite in 2011 and is a renaissance woman known for being a jack of all trades who can write and play basketball.

Miss Italy Luna Voce is a 25-year-old Dutch-Italian model whose striking good looks makes her a fierce competitor in the pageant. As the former Miss Earth Italy 2009, Voce speaks five languages and is a student of Natural Sciences. She also won the Top Model of the World pageant in 2012 and represented Italy in Miss International in 2008.

Born in the land of supermodels, Jakelyne Oliveira is hoping to take her country of Brazil all the way to the top. A student of Agriculture and Environmental Engineering, this vavavoom contestant is the fourth Brazilian who won the Miss Globe International crown. Oliveira bested 26 other contestants and was crowned as the new Miss Universe Brazil on Sept 28, 2013.

The pageant will be televised on NBC and Telemundo.
