Speculations are swirling around the internet about the possibility of the New York Jets picking Aaron Hernandez off the waivers, once the troubled tight end is released from prison.

Sports fans immediately shared their reactions on Twitter and Facebook following the arrest of Hernandez for his alleged involvement in the murder of an acquaintance, whose body was found near the tight end's house in Massachusetts last week.

Bad things didn't stop from there for Hernandez as the New England Patriots waived him from their roster just about an hour after his arrest.

Hernandez, who formed football's deadliest tight end combo's along with Rob Gronkowski, has suddenly become jobless after signing five-year, $40 million deal last year.

After catching 51 passes for 483 yards with five touchdowns last season with the Patriots, Hernandez's future has suddenly turned into a big puzzle with his immediate freedom remains uncertain up to now.

Surprisingly, there are already some teams that have shown interest in acquiring the prolific tight end once he found a way out of prison. The most obvious of them is the New York Jets.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has never kept his desire to add Hernandez if the Pats eventually released him. It looks like Ryan's prayers were all answered on Wednesday morning following New England's shocking decision.

Several Twitter users suspect that Ryan is already preparing to snatch Hernandez off the market, anytime the tight end is cleared. However, there's also a great chances Ryan may wait for quite some time, especially if Hernandez is found out guilty in the end.

Hernandez is charged for first degree murder of 27-year old Odin Lloyd. If guilty, the tight end could get life without parole.
