LG Electronics unveiled the LG G2 earlier in August, hoping their latest flagship handset would become a new contender in the premium smartphone market in the U.S. Now it looks like the two largest carriers have set their release dates for the LG G2.

According to Android Central, LG Electronics is going to make an already smartphone-busy September even busier. The Android-watching tech blog's unnamed sources "familiar with LG's plans" have said that both AT&T and Verizon have release dates set for the LG G2. Verizon has reportedly scheduled a release date for the LG G2 on Sept. 12, and AT&T's release date is right afterwards, on Sept. 13. This is roughly a week before the new iPhone is rumored to be released.

According to those unnamed sources though, you will be able to pre-order the LG G2 on AT&T and get a free folio case for the new resurgent flagship device. Release dates for Sprint and T-Mobile were not available at this time, but the carriers are expected to carry the device as well.

Not only is the new iPhone expected to have a release date in September, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be unveiled and released in this busy Indian summer as well.

LG Electronics unveiled the LG G2 as the phone specifically designed from customer feedback. The LG G2 has a 5.2-inch touchscreen, the size the company says is the ideal for most hands, and has a 1080 x 1920p Full HD resolution. The LG G2 features a quad core 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor - the fastest currently available - with an Adreno 330 GPU, assisted by 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage but no microSD card slot for more memory expansion.

The LG G2 also has a 13-megapixel main shooter, a front-facing camera and LG's custom "Rear Key," which is a volume rocker and button on the very back of the device, placed right where peoples' fingers rest when they're talking on the phone.
