On Jan. 13th the Hollywood Foreign Press will hand out their prestigious award: the Golden Globe.

The Globe event is regarded as the biggest party in Hollywood as it brings together actors and directors from the TV and Movie world. The Awards are also known for separating Comedy and Drama into two separate categories.

Films nominated for the Best Motion Picture Drama include "Django Unchained", "Argo," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Lincoln," and "Life of Pi." "Argo" is predicted to win the category but "Lincoln" could easily surprise.

In the Best Motion Picture Comedy/Musical segment, films include "The Best Exotic Marigold," "Silver Lingings Playbook," "Les Miserables," "Moonrise Kingdom," and "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen." The category has two films that can easily win: "Les Miz" and "Playbook." Based on the HFPA's love for musicals it is predicted that "Les Miserables "could edge out "Silver Linings Playbook."

In the Best Comedy/Musical (TV), the shows nominated include "The Big Bang Theory," "Episode," "Girls," "Modern Family," and "Smash." Latinospost.com predicts that "Modern Family" should easily take the award based on all the accolades it won this past year.

The Best Mini Series or Motion Picture has "Games Change," "The Girl," "Hatfields & McCoys," "The Hour" and "Political Animals" nominated. "Game Change" is expected to win based on the reception the TV movie obtained this past year.

The Best Drama TV series has "Breaking Bad," "Boardwalk Empire," "Downtown Abbey: Season 2," "Homeland" and "Network" nominated. "Breaking Bad" and "Homeland" have seem like the two shows to win but according to Latinospost, "Homeland" looks to take the award for the second straight year.

Stars expected to arrive on the red carpet include Sofia Vergara, Julianna Marguiles, Daniel Day-Lewis, Claire Danes, Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Alec Balwin, Woody Harrelson, and Hugh Jackman.

The show will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey and will be broadcast live on NBC at 8pm EST/5pm PT. There will be a live stream of the red carpet via E! Online starting at 6pm EST/ 3pm PT.
