The Las Vegas Film Critics announced that Life of Pi is the Best film of the Year. The film came as a surprise after Zero Dark Thirty had swept the majority of the critic's circles thus far.

Life of Pi picked up 6 awards with Las Vegas including Best Director and Best Cinematography. The win is the consecutive loss for Zero Dark Thirty after Argo won San Diego earlier.

Daniel Day-Lewis continued his winning streak with Jennifer Lawrence winning her second best actress award. Tommy Lee Jones looks like he is the frontrunner to win the Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor race after his Las Vegas victory and Anne Hathaway continued winning awards.

Las Vegas included Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln, The Impossible, Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Moonrise Kingdom, Les Miserables, Beasts of the Southern Wild and The Master in its top ten films of 2012.

Previous winners at the Las Vegas Film Critics include The Artist, The Social Network, The Hurt Locker, Frost/Nixon, No Country for Old Men and The Departed.
