Michael Bay's turtles seem to have undergone a few facial reconstruction procedures in these fan photos.

Reddit user CrazyAuron posted a link to a couple of fan-improved photos of Michelangelo and Leonardo, saying "Someone took it upon themselves to improve the new TMNT designs."

The fan-improved photos, labeled 1 on the images, features the mutant turtle superheroes without the human lips and the mutated human nose. The head of the characters were also slightly enlarged to accommodate the changes.

The photos made use of screenshots from the newly released "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" teaser trailer which gave fans a glimpse of how the turtles will look like in the reboot movie. Both shots are seemingly as close as fans can get in getting a good view of the characters as the turtles were quite busy in other scenes of the teaser trailer.

The turtles in the reboot movie have been slammed countless of times online. Even before the official release of the teaser trailer, CinemaBlend's Eric Eisenberg, who had first dibs on the clip, remarked:

"While the bodies looked fine, the thing that gives me pause is the look of their heads. While it's obviously a challenge to find some kind of middle-point between real life turtles and humans, the design seems to be stuck in a weird middle point where it just looks a bit off. In addition to being out of proportion with their bodies, they are also a bit weirdly shaped and look... off."

Reddit users seem to have a different opinion though as most of the comments made were about the mutant superheroes' lips. "Is it just me that is seriously creeped out by the giant human lips on a turtle?" reads one comment. "With the human lips, these turtles are inexorably mired in the uncanny valley," reads another comment.
