The HTC One Max appears to be arriving globally quicker than many expected, as it looks as though the device is heading for an international release date of Oct. 15. However, it looks as though some regions of the world will be getting the phablet a little bit behind everyone else.
According to the Chinese website ePrice, the global launch for the high-end phablet will begin on Oct. 15 in China, which may be the first region to get a hold of the device, since their is no indication that the phablet will launch in North America in that window.
It also looks as though two other critical Asian markets will get the device soon after the China launch. Engadget is reporting that on Oct. 16 Hong Kong will be receiving the HTC One Max. After that launch, Taiwan will be the next market to get the device on Oct. 18, according to an invitation sent out by HTC Taiwan. The invite had the date of the Taiwan launch, along with two lines of prose that seem to suggest some of the HTC One Max's features.
"One finger opens up a big view...You are invited to immerse in the sound with us," said HTC in the invite.
These lines seem to infer the fingerprint scanner that has sporadically appeared on the HTC One Max, along with the BoomSound speakers that have also appeared on the device.
While there has been no indication when the HTC One Max will be launched in the United States and the rest of North America, it is possible that the device will launch on any of these international release dates. However, many smartphones are released in international markets such as China and Hong Kong before crossing the Pacific to North America, so it is likely that the HTC One Max will be available later than these October dates.
The HTC One Max has recently been spotted with Verizon Wireless branding, indicating that the phablet will be available from the service provider when it does launch in North America. The device will have a massive Full HD display and is rumored to have either a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset or the less powerful 600 Snapdragon chipset.
