Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and developer Ubisoft has released a veritable storm of videos and previews of the single player portion of the game. Now, we can add a brief teaser video of the game's multiplayer component to the list.

The trailer begins in a tropical port town, which is fitting, considering the game takes place in the Caribbean. One player is seen in the video using the typical parkour style of the series to navigate through the jungles of the map to get near to a target. Players swing and jump to the target, before the character assassinates the official-looking man with a blow from a hatchet. However, the player is being watched by another human-controlled character, which begins to follow the original player as she flees. The enemy player stalks the first player, until a well-aimed pistol shot from a third player takes down the bad guy and allows the first player to escape.

From there, the setting shifts to an elegant room, and the character trades their rugged pirate attire for clothing better suited to blending in with high society, complete with a powdered wig and fancy cloths. The player tries to assassinate a female target, but it turns out to be a decoy. The female target is seen walking away, but the player catches up to the target and jumps her, performing a brutal assassination using a hook weapon. However, another player sees the assassination and follows the assassin out of the party, and performs his own execution of the player outside. Finally, a new player dressed in a more masquerade-style garb jumps down from the rooftops and uses a smoke bomb to get the jump on the player to get the kill. A brief montage of the different assassinations and costumes available to players is also shown before the video ends.

The video, though brief, sets the tone for the type of free-for-all battles users can expect when they play the multiplayer mode for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Players will be trying to get the jump on others through parkour style chases, stealth and special techniques while trying to stay one step ahead of others trying to take them out. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will be coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U, and will also be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
