Canada is the newest country to get the Nexus 7 second Generation, made by ASUS, and more commonly called the Google Nexus 7 2. The device hit the Google Play Store for Canadians this week, with both Wi-Fi-only versions of the tablets listed on the Google Play Store in Canada.

The price for Google's new 2013 tablet is $229 (Canadian dollars) for the 16GB version and $269 if you want double the storage. You can buy them from the Google Play Store, which is offering free shipping for a limited time, and can ship in one to two business days, or you can go to your local Best Buy, Staples, or Future Shop, according to AndroidAuthority, to pick up the Google Nexus 7 2 in person.

Right now, you can only buy the Wi-Fi-only version of the Nexus 7 2. The LTE version is not available in Canada, but it's not available yet in the U.S. (or anywhere else) either, so don't feel like you're missing out.

Speaking of missing out, the United Kingdom has yet to even be able to buy the Google Nexus 7 2 Wi-Fi-only version, but that will change in a couple weeks. The U.K. is getting a release date of Aug. 28 for the Nexus 7 2, which is sooner than the mid-September release dates that previous rumors speculated.

Of course the Google Nexus 7 2 Wi-Fi-only model has been available in the U.S. since late July, and features a 7-inch Full HD screen running at 1920 x 1200p resolution, and is powered by a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, clocked at 1.5GHz, assisted by 2GB of RAM. The Nexus 7 2 comes in either a 16GB or 32GB storage option, though the LTE Google Nexus 7 2, which still has no release date, will only come with the 32GB option.
