Google unveiled the new 2013 Nexus 7, commonly called the Nexus 7 2, at a press conference in July when they revealed the Chromecast smartTV dongle and the new Android 4.3 operating system. Now it looks like the LTE cellular version may be headed to stores in August, according to a couple reports.

The Nexus 7 2 has already been available at Best Buy, Amazon, Staples, and the Google Play Store since late July, but those are the 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi-only versions of the tablets. For people who truly want to get the most out of a top-of-the-line 7-inch Android 4.3 tablet, the 32GB LTE mobile version of the tablet is the only way to go. But the question remains: when is the release date?

Engadget reported a week ago that AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile (sorry Sprint) were going to support the LTE version of the new Nexus 7. But at the time, no release date, price, or launch announcement was given, and no other details emerged, other than the fact that the Nexus 7 2 will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean installed, and that Google has said the device will be arriving in "the coming weeks."

But recently, Japanese tech site Blog of Mobile, via GottaBeMobile, pegged the release date of the new Nexus 7 LTE in Japan for late August, along with the Wi-Fi-only variants, which haven't launched in that country yet. While that time frame hasn't been confirmed officially, if the tech site's source is correct, it's a pretty fair assumption that if Japan is getting the Wi-Fi-only and LTE version of the Nexus 7 2, the U.S. will get the LTE version as well. Blog of Mobile says it spotted the Asus K009, which is code name for the new Nexus 7, passing through a Bluetooth certification, according to UsDailyVoice.

The New Nexus 7 2 will have a 7-inch display with a eye-melting 1920 x 1200 resolution, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, assisted by 2GB of Ram. The LTE version will come in a 32GB version only, and run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right out of the box.
