The Canadian Weather Centre (CWC) has announced that while Tropical Storm Leslie has been downgraded to post-Tropical Storm Leslie, it has packed quite a wallop in Newfoundland and parts of Nova Scotia, and is expected to leave the area by later on in the day on Tuesday.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is reporting that Tropical Storm Leslie has sidestepped the Bahamas and is now "racing" toward Newfoundland, according to its most recent public advisory.

The NHC announced that a low pressure system has a 20 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
