On Jan. 10th, the Academy Award Nominations will be announced by this year's host Seth Macfarlane and actress Emma Stone.

The nominations will be announced at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. EST. Among films expected to get nominated for Best Picture are "Les Miserables," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Lincoln," "Life of Pi" and "Argo." "Silver Linings Playbook," "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Moonrise Kingdom" are also potential Best Picture Nominees while "The Master" and the new James Bond movie "Skyfall" are long shots for a nomination in the top category.

Among the actors that are expected to get nominated are Ann Hathaway ("Les Miserables"), Daniel Day-Lewis ("Lincoln"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Phillip Seymour Hoffman ("The Master"), and Tommy Lee Jones ("Lincoln").

Tuesday's announcement will mark the first time the Academy Award Nominations are announced without all precursor guilds giving out their awards. The American Cinema Editor's and Costume Designers Guild did announce their nominations prior to Thursday's announcement. Additionally the nominations will also mark the first time since 1972 that a host announces the nominations. Charlton Heston was the host back in 1972 and announced the nominations.

The Academy actual moved its date forward this year. The nominations were expected to be announced on Jan. 15, two days after the Golden Globes awards are presented. The nomination also comes on the same day as the noted Critics Choice awards, an organization that many thought had some influence on Oscar nominations.

The announcement will be live streamed online and transmitted on NBC on the Today show and on ABC's Good Morning America. Those on Twitter can follow the Twitter handle #OscarNoms while Facebook users can visit the Academy's official Facebook page. The Academy has also released an official Oscar app on Google Play, the Apple App Store, and the Amazon App Store. The nominations will be given out at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater and the awards will presented on February 24 at the Dolby Theater.
