One feature that most people look for in mobile phones device is the dual-SIM capability. The feature allows them to use one phone while giving them the flexibility to use two separate SIM cards most likely from varying mobile carriers where they hold more than one line.

In rare occasions, there are some folks who would have as much as three lines. It could be three different mobile carriers or perhaps a mix of postpaid and prepaid devices. Regardless, the more SIM slots a phone has could be better for folks and Acer may be coming out with one by January, 2016.

The device is actually something some may have heard of already, the Acer Liquid X2. The device was actually unveiled last April though there was no word at the time on when and where it would be released.

That was until today when Malaysian website, SoyaCincau, confirmed that the Acer Liquid X2 will be made available starting January, 2016, presumably only in Asia.

For those who are unaware of the Acer Liquid 2, the device looks a whole lot like the Sony Xperia though this device is not touted to be a high end device as such. It offers provisions to store up to three SIM cards which comes a bit odd though still possible if you think about folks carrying multiple SIM cards for one reason or the other.

Just the same, it could serve its purpose though the more important thing is that it is finally coming out.

Among the features to watch out for include as reported by Android Headlines, the device will tote a 5.5-inch display (720x1080 pixels), a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space. It also comes armed with a 13 MP main and front camera and a 4,000 mAh battery which could hint that this device may last for days depending on use.

Further to its aesthetics include a special flip cover that allows users to check out notifications without having to open the device as well. It will come loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The device will be made available in black and gold color variants for buyers to choose from.

Though not a high-end phone, the Acer Liquid X2 should get its share of interested buyers though it remains to be seen how much it would retail. There is no word on that for the moment though more information could be leaked in the coming weeks.
