Caitlyn Jenner's journey from being Bruce to Caitlyn is now official as a judge on Friday approved her request to legally change her gender, according to a report from Access Hollywood.

The news outlet revealed that the reality TV star decided to apply for the gender change, saying that it will "better match my identity."

According to documents obtained by E! Online, Caitlyn, 65, passed legal documents to request a new birth certificate, where her name will be changed from William Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Marie Jenner. According to the "I Am Cait" star, she wanted some of the information on her request to be confidential and not be known to the public such as her address, medical history, social security number and driver's license number.

Jenner said, as per Access Hollywood, “Although public support for my transition has been overwhelmingly supportive, I am also receiving unwelcome negative attention from private citizens, including threats of bodily harm."

A separate report from E! Online recalls that in an episode of "I Am Cait," Jenner sat down with a representative from the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Drian Juarez, to discuss about the process of changing names.

Juarez explained to Jenner, "You have to go through the court-ordered process, which has been streamlined a bit. Before, you had to have gender-confirmation surgery before you could change your gender marker. There was advocacy done to change that, and now you just have to have clinically appropriate treatment to change your gender marker."

Caitlyn replied to the LGBT representative, "After hearing all the struggles people go through because they don't have the proper documentation, I realized that I should be a little bit more aggressive in dealing with this issue of my identity. I think it's time to get that process started."

In another episode of "I Am Cait," Jenner revealed that together with her name-changing process, she would celebrate it with a big event, not just for herself but for other girls or "all of [her] little tribe" who "never really celebrated their name change."

According to Daily Mail, Jenner’s transition to being a woman came to public light when she posed on the July cover of Vanity Fair. Her revelation is due to the fact that she’s tired of “telling lies.”

“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life, you never dealt with yourself.’ I don’t want that to happen,” she revealed.
