The Wii U is getting a plethora of third party launch titles this holiday season and one of the biggest ones will be Mass Effect 3. Bioware's game will be released for the Wii U five days prior to launch on November 13 and will offer Nintendo gamers an opportunity to experience one of the largest science fiction titles on the market.

The title was ported to the Wii U by Tantalus and according to Gameranx, Mass Effect 3 will not be a vastly different experience on the Wii U than it was on Xbox 360 and PS 4.

On the Wii U, the gamepad will be utilized mainly as a map. According to Nintendojo, the maps will be recreated for the Wii U rather than simply be recycled from previous versions of the title. More importantly, players will also have the option of playing the title straight from the GamePad in the same way New Super Mario Bros U and Darksiders 2 can be played. Wii U gamers will also have access to an exclusive gun for the system called the Ladon.

The title will also come packaged with a number of past downloadable content including the Ashes and the Extended Cut DLC. Also available on the disc will be the Resurgence, Rebellion, and Earth multiplayer packs.

The most important aspect of Mass Effect's launch on the Wii U will be the fact that Bioware is finally bringing its major franchise to a Nintendo console; a fact that should bide well for the future of the Wii U's third party content.
