Wii U's plethora of 3rd party content has given them the ability to reach out to a wide range of audiences.

Disney's Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is one title that reaches out to both casual and hardcore gamers. In the game, Mickey goes around with a paintbrush to erase and paint different objects to overcome certain challenges. The game's direction is dictated by the player's choices throughout the game.

In the new title, players can also play as Oswald who wields a remote control to battle enemies. The title will emphasize using both characters to overcome numerous obstacles.

Wii U gamers will be able to control Mickey on the gamepad but will also be able utilize the touch screen for the map and will also include go-to commands that players can hit to perform specific actions. According to NintendoLife, players will not be able to play the game solely off the Gamepad as is allowed in such titles as Darksiders 2. The first player will also be unable to play using the Wiimote and Nunchuk combo like the second player would, but must use the Gamepad.

The first Epic Mickey met with a tepid receptions. On aggregate site Metacritic it received a 73/100. The game was criticized for poor camera, control issues, as well as a lack of voice acting. PAL Gaming network called it "unrefined" and "unpolished." Good Game stated that the game was not as mature as was initially stated and ultimately played like a "kid's game."

The game will launch alongside the Wii U on November 18, 2012.
