The makers of "Captain America" have reportedly started working on a third installment as early as last year, says Collider.

Speaking with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the outlet reports that the two are already in the early days of writing the script and are "throwing out ideas to see what's working." However, the two have made it clear that they are trying to make sure that the headlining superhero is not overshadowed by other characters in "Captain America 3."

"It's coalescing into the movie it's supposed to be," Christopher Markus said. "We have now an embarrassment of interesting characters to deal with, so... you've got to make a plot that's going to get everybody in motion and yet keep Cap at the [center]," he told the outlet.

Markus and McFeely have also apparently read the script for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and says that they are "quite happy" with how Captain America is in the film, including where the superhero will be in the ending. "I'm very pleased with the way Joss handled Cap in [Avengers] 2. I'm pleased where we can get him, and I have no complaints about what we can do," remarked Stephen McFeely.

As for The Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes, the screenwriters said that they are not quite sure how big of a role he will be playing in "Captain America 3."

"Three movies in, [Cap is] becoming a pretty well-adjusted guy," Markus started off. "So it gets harder to find issues that he's got to overcome. Winter Soldier's all issues. He's just a screwed up, walking-around crazy person. So it's a matter of balancing those two out," he added.

The Hollywood Reporter has earlier broke out the news that Marvel's "Captain America 3" has been set for a May 6, 2016 release date, stacking up against DC's "Batman vs Superman."

According to Slash Film, Kevin Feige has made it clear that Cap will not be backing down and will instead be going head to head at the box office with two of the most celebrated superheroes in the world.
