Amazon.com has fixed the price of the Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8 smartphone after a mistake offered the device at a very significant low price.
The Lumia 1020 is available exclusively with mobile carrier AT&T for $199 when signing a two-year contract. Amazon, however, offered the smartphone for the same price.
What made the difference on Amazon?
The Lumia 1020's $199 price on Amazon was for the no-contract model.

The offer was reported to be "too good to be true."
Websites such as Mobile Nations and Windows Phone Central utilized the $199 "Without a Service Plan" price offer and placed an order of the device.
Amazon might have been quick to discover the $199 no-contract price and alerted buyers. According to WPCentral, Amazon will not honor the $199 purchases that were placed during the short period of time. An email was sent to customers who have placed an order.
As seen on WPCentral: "We're contacting you about order #111-xxxxxx-xxxxxx. Unfortunately, we recently discovered that an error caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price: Nokia Lumia 1020, Yellow (AT&T). In this case, we're unable to offer this item for the incorrectly posted price. Therefore, we've cancelled your order for this item. At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced. We're very sorry for this disappointing news."
Amazon has reverted prices to their usual cost.
The Lumia 1020 on Amazon is available for $149.99, which is $50 cheaper than on AT&T's official website, as long as the consumer signs a two-year contract for the mobile carrier. The $149.99 price tag is valid for new and exiting AT&T customers in an individual plan or family plan.
The "Without a Service Plan" cost for the Lumia 1020 has increased following the $199.99 mix up. The new price is $639.99. A big difference.
The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a rear-facing camera with a 41-megapixel sensor and front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The smartphone also packs a 2,000mAh battery.
