Nokia Lumia sales have finally started to see an increase in North America as Nokia released their 2013 third quarter earnings.
According to Nokia, 1.4 million smartphone were sold in North America during the third quarter of 2013, and the figure includes Lumia devices.

The figures for the Nokia smartphones are an increase when comparing year-to-year and quarter-to-quarter numbers.
When comparing to the second quarter of 2013, Nokia sold 0.5 million smart devices. With the third quarter Lumia figures released, Nokia saw an increase of 180 percent.
In comparison to the third quarter in 2012, Nokia saw an increase of 367 percentage points. To put it in perspective, Nokia sold 0.3 million smart devices during the 2012 third quarter, considerably down compared to the 1.4 million during the same period this year.
Nokia noted, worldwide, the Lumia smartphones sold 8.8 million units during the 2013 third quarter, which is up from the 2.9 million units sold during the same quarter in 2012.
Nokia, unfortunately, saw decline in sales in all other regions the Finnish-based organization operates, including Asia-Pacific, Europe, Greater China, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa.
Nokia added it has hopes of seeing sales increase further with the incoming debut of the Lumia 1520 smartphone. As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 1520, with its 6-inch display and 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, is expected to start shipments during the fourth quarter this year with a suggested retail price of $749. The new Lumia smartphone will have subsidies in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, Finland, United Kingdom, and United States.
