Titanfall's easily one of the most anticipated games of 2014 for the Xbox One and PCs, and that's been the case even without a release date attached to the title, which makes the recent announcement from its developer all the more tantalizing. Developer Respawn Entertainment has announced to Gamespot that the game will be available on March 11 in the United States and March 13 in Europe.

Titanfall is slated to come to both PC and the Xbox One, but it is unclear if cross-platform play will be available for the game. While the feature would be interesting, considering that many are hoping that Titanfall will be the next big Xbox franchise, the game should be fine without the cross pollination of PC and console gamers.

In addition to announcing Titanfall's release date, Respawn provided details about the special edition version of the game. At $250, the bundle is very pricey, but users will get a lot of extras, including a hand-crafted Titan statue that is 18 inches tall. The statue will also come with a diorama and will feature battery-powered LED lighting. Other goodies that come with the special edition of Titanfall include a 190-page artbook and a schematic post of the Titan Atlas.

Titanfall allows players to scramble around a massive map on foot and attack the opposing team, while at the same time other players will get to use their massive Titan robots to fight both foot soldiers and fellow mechs. This leads to matches where users try to take down the mechs as the destructible environments constantly shift and change and new enemies both large and small charge forward.

The Xbox One looks to have a strong game lineup in 2014. In addition to Titanfall, a new Halo title is expect to come out during the year, giving Xbox One users a new entry into Microsoft's flagship franchise in addition to a new IP that may become the next big thing in gaming.
