"Titanfall" is one of the most promising games on the Xbox One, and seeks to change the way we view video games.

The game is focused only on multiplayer, but seeks to still include epic moments into the game's story during those pitched multiplayer battles. Some have wondered if the game, made by Respawn Entertainment, is meant to compete with "Call of Duty: Ghosts." Respawn was founded by the creators of Call of Duty, Jason West and Vince Zampella. Additionally, many former employees of Call of Duty's developer, Infinity Ward, work for Respawn. Despite all this, Zampella told GamesIndustry International that Titanfall is not seeking to replace or even compete with "Call of Duty," but rather be something new to gaming:

"Honestly, we're not shipping the same time as them...We're going for something different. We're not gunning for Call of Duty. We're doing our thing. The important thing is to make sure what we're doing is fun. I'm OK with Call of Duty being big. I helped create it, so I'm proud to see it's something so big that it goes beyond me."

Another big difference between the two games is that, while Titanfall had been focused solely on multiplayer, "Call of Duty: Ghosts'" multiplayer has yet to be seen, as Infinity Ward has focused on showing off elements of their single player campaign. Zampella no longer subscribes to this philosophy, saying that dividing a development team up for a barely played single player experience does not make sense:

"We make these single-player missions that take up all the focus of the studio, that take a huge team six months to make, and players run through it in 8 minutes, And how many people finish the single-player game? It's a small percentage. It's like, everyone plays through the first level, but 5 percent of people finish the game. Really, you split the team. They're two different games. They're balanced differently, they're scoped differently. But people spend hundreds of hours in the multiplayer experience versus 'as little time as possible rushing to the end' [in single-player]. So why do all the resources go there?

It will be interesting to see how well Titanfall does compare to Call of Duty: Ghosts, even though the games share very little common ground. Titanfall will be released in the spring of 2014 on the Xbox One and PC, and Call of Duty: Ghosts will be out November 5 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, with an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release to be determined.
