The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is the next original Zelda title to be released by Nintendo, and many fans are eager to try out the game when it comes out on Nov. 22 for the 3DS. Now, at the New York Comic Con Eiji Aonuma, the producer for the series, has revealed new details for the game, including details about the new setting for the game, Lorule.

While the new Zelda title, which is a sequel to the classic title A Link to the Past will feature a similar alternate dimension similar to the Dark World, the game will not feature that particular setting. Instead, a brand new world called Lorule, which has it's own castle and a princess named Hilda. As Aonuma explains to IGN:

"You may have seen [Princess Hilda] praying at the end of that trailer...Naturally they're both princesses, and they both have kingdoms, and they're both thinking about their kingdoms. But they also have different desires (and) different motives each to their own. How those interact and conflict is how the story develops."

Due to this new setting, the game will have a brand new villain, who will be called Yuga. Yuga will not only have evil designs for Princess Zelda, but also the new princess, Hilda as well, according to Aonuma:

"The way that he interacts with Princess Zelda, and in Lorule, Princess Hilda basically is what makes the story unfold, "

The upgrade system for items that a player buys or rents deal with special creatures called Maimai's. These creatures are scattered around the world of the game, and Link can find and return the creatures to the Mother MaiMai. In return, Link's items will receive special upgrades to help him along his quest. For example, one upgrade to the classic bow and arrow item causes the weapon to fire three arrows at once.

In addition to the various dungeons found in the game (which players can take on in any order) there will be several other smaller dungeons scattered throughout the game. These mini dungeons can be found throughout the game and offer special treasures in addition to huge amounts of rupees that players can find in these optional quests.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds seeks to change the way games in the series are played, and the new elements found in this handheld game may be a preview of where the series is heading in the future.
