Hurricanes "Ingrid" and "Manuel's" torrential rains caused widespread damage over 23 states in Mexico.  According to CNN, 97 people were killed and 50,000 out of the 248,477 affected people were taken to shelters.

Quoted by CNN, Luis Felipe Puente, Civil Protection National Coordinator, announced that Guerrero is the region with the highest death toll registered and one of the most affected states along with Tamaulipas, Chiapas, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chihuahua.

According to José Manuel Caballero, National Weather Service Coordinator, as quoted by the BBC, the last time Mexico was hit by two storms in less than 24 hours was in 1958.
