A new leak of an alleged HTC One Max shows a fingerprint scanner included with the device, conflicting with a previous photo that showed no such feature on the device.
It was reported earlier in the week that the HTC One Max, the supersized version of the smartphone, would not have the fingerprint scanner security feature that was previously shown in photos; a different leak from a Chinese website showed the device without the fingerprint scanner. But now, a new leak from ePrice has shown that the device will indeed have a fingerprint scanner, adding further fuel to the fire.
The leak shows several photos of the device at various angles, and the inclusion of the fingerprint scanner is not the only piece of interesting information shown. One photo shows the device compared to the regular HTC One, showing off the Max's bigger size and the fingerprint scanner. Another photo shows an extreme close up of several buttons on the device, which may be the power button or a combination power button and fingerprint scanner. An additional photo shows a dual-shot mode that is similar to the Galaxy S4's. Users can use both the front and back camera at once, with the front-facing camera's window able to be resized and moved. This would be a handy feature, and should highlight the device's hardware power and camera capabilities.
The new leak and the version without the fingerprint scanner are both on the Asian version of the HTC One Max, so these leaks conflict immensely. Hopefully HTC clears up the issue soon, possibly at IFA in Berlin, Germany at the beginning of September. The device will have a 5.9-inch Full HD display according to rumors, which will be handy for juggling the dual-shot photo mode shown off in this new round of photos. Within the phone, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM is rumored to be the hardware setup for the HTC One Max, giving it some impressive specs. The smartphone is also rumored to have a slot for a MicroSD card, allowing users to increase the memory for the device.
