Shakira flaunts her bare abdomen in the latest cover of SELF Magazine in which she speaks in depth of her transformation as a mother, her career, her relationship with Gerard Pique, her newborn child Milan and her favorite body part.

"I'm quite proud of my rear," Shakira told the magazine as she shared some of her secrets to regain her famous curves after the birth of her son, Milan, last January. She admitted that at at first she was very insecure and worried about how she looked after giving birth. According to the singer, she looked "like a shar-pei" after delivery.

"I practiced zumba all throughout the pregnancy. That helped me to not gain too much weight [in the abdomen]," she said, adding, "two minutes of abdominal work is not nearly enough to maintain a flat stomach." She also made sure to incorporate cardio dance moves, in addition to running and using the elliptical machine during her workouts. She also held a plie (a ballet move) and squeezed her glutes 30 times to get her butt in shape.

Shakira also said that she ate eight times a day, but only small portions that were rich in fiber, protein, calcium and iron.

The singer added that the most important thing is to accept one's body. "I do not obsess about my flaws because I see my body as a whole. Besides, I think men appreciate security more than perfection."

In late July, Shakira took a break on the beach with Gerard Pique, and photographers pictured the star wearing a bikini, which showed how much of her figure she had regained since the pregnancy. The star has been dating Pique for a few years now. The two met in 2010 when he was featured in the music video for her South Africa World Cup theme song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)."

In June, Shakira posed for "Elle" where she also spoke of her son Milan and how she manages a long distance relationship with Pique.

Shakira is currently working on her long awaited new album, which will be released tentatively at the end of the year. She will also resume coaching activities on the hit NBC show "The Voice" in its sixth season alongside Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Christina Aguilera, who was the original coach, left her place for Shakira to focus on her own singing career but is now back on the program.
