The Android 4.2.2 update is now rolling out to two of HTC's mid-tier handsets, the HTC One X and the HTC One X+. The update is being released first in the company's home country of Taiwan, but it's expected to roll out to other countries in Asia and Europe in the next few weeks.

With the Android 4.2.2 update comes the latest HTC UI software as well, which the company's flagship, the HTC One, has had since its release date. Called Sense 5, the latest UI software package includes Blinkfeed, the scrolling content aggregator that brings all of your updates to its constantly updating live tiles. The Android 4.2.2 update allows Instagram to be used as a content source for BlinkFeed.

Also included in the Sense 5 update is a better Zoe camera UI with exposure and focus lock and quick settings in the status bar. Automatic video highlights is also a new feature that the lucky HTC One X and HTC One X+ users to receive the update right now can look forward to, with a total of 12 themes and styles to choose from, according to HTC Source, which broke the news from Taiwan.

The update will also include performance improvements that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system brings, along with a new music app and a new and improved lock screen.

The HTC One X is a touchscreen smartphone that was the last handset to come out before the HTC One. It first came out in the U.S. with Android Jelly Bean 4.0.4 and HTC Sense 4. It features a dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, clocked to 1.5GHz, assisted by 1GB of RAM. It's got a 1,800 mAh battery, 32GB of internal storage, and a 4.7-inch display with 1,280 x 720p high definition picture.

Right now the Android 4.2.2 update is only in Taiwan, but to check for the update on your HTC One X or HTC One X+, go to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now.
