In the lead-up to the IFA 2013 consumer electronics show, HTC has made a few announcements, including the new mid-range Desire 601 and entry-level Desire 300. Despite the fact that those are completely new phones, that announcement will likely be eclipsed by the simple fact that the HTC One is coming to markets in a new color: "Vivid Blue."

There were rumors ahead of this announcement, with blurry, badly-framed, or "in the wild" photos leaking that showed the cyan-hued HTC One in some of its glory. But now HTC has made it official, releasing press images of the new HTC One color. It's a nice mix of the all-business aluminum, tinted in a cheerful cyan-blue - kind of reminiscent of the blue in the second-generation iMac. This now makes the HTC One available (depending on your carrier) in a total of four colors: original silver, black, red (on Sprint) and now "Vivid Blue."

HTC hasn't announced details on the release date of the Vivid Blue HTC One, other than to say that it will land in "select markets" starting in Q4. There were previous rumors that the blue HTC One would hit Verizon - the last carrier to get the HTC One - at the end of August, along with the Moto X's release. But that didn't happen.

The latest rumors - backed up at least by a purported internal device listing - have the release date of the Vivid Blue HTC One on Sept. 10 for Sprint. That would complete the HTC One's color lineup for Big Yellow. Currently, there are no other hints as to other carriers and markets, but we'll keep you updated on that as information becomes available.

The HTC One is the critically-acclaimed flagship smartphone for the Taiwanese phone manufacturer for 2013. With a 4.7-inch Super LCD display, the HTC One packs 468 pixels per inch, which means a vivid Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The handset is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, assisted by 2GB of RAM and comes with a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera, which HTC says can out-shoot the 13-megapixel cameras in low light conditions.

A Vivid Blue version of the HTC One mini is also on its way to markets, though pricing and release details have yet to be confirmed. Stay with Latinos Post Tech for more information as it becomes available.
