LG Electronics, which just unveiled the LG G2 smartphone that it hopes becomes a popular flagship option, is now ramping up to an announcement of its first tablet since the LG Optimus Pad two years ago: the LG G Pad. The latest move by the Korean device company is a teaser video that it just released on YouTube.

The video is a good indication that an unveiling of the LG G Pad is not far away - perhaps even a week or so, according to Engadget's analysis of LG Electronics' evolving marketing strategy. That would put the unveiling squarely where it has been rumored to be, which is sometime during or around the IFA 2013 consumer electronics show next week. The video is another incarnation of LG Electronics' new marketing message, which we saw for the LG G2 unveiling, that it builds electronics based on (potential) customers' needs and desires (which one would hope every brand does, but nevertheless):

Much like voters who want less taxes and more government services at the same time, the video shows people who want a tablet to be small enough to fit into a pocket and large enough to watch videos and get lots of hard work done. And it should be thin and light and connect to everything.

There's been no word yet on the dimensions of the upcoming LG G Pad, but it is rumored to feature a 8.3-inch display with Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1200 pixels. The device was earlier rumored to have a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM, but that has since been revised, due to Korean media reports, to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset instead.

LG Electronics would be pretty foolish to tease customers wanting it to connect to smart TVs and PCs without including that feature, so that's likely as well. More details are likely to crop up through the week as we approach the IFA 2013 consumer electronics show in Berlin, which starts late next week, so stay with us for more updates.
