LG G2 Release Date To Be Followed By Optimus Pad Successor: G Pad - Report

Just last week, the first details of a possible new tablet by the resurgent LG Electronics hit the web. Now a new report from Korean media seems to confirm the existence, or planned existence, of a successor to the two year old LG Optimus Pad: the LG G Pad.

The Korea Herald, according to Android Authority, just recently came forward with information about the LG G Pad, given to them by an anonymous source (of course). With little build-up in the Internet's rumor mill, LG Electronics is planning on putting the G Pad into production next month, according to the source. The first production will be a 500 prototype trial run, which means that we might be seeing some leaked photos of the possible tablet soon. After the trial run, the Korean electronics company is reportedly going to start making 100,000 to 200,000 G Pads per month.

The LG G Pad, according to the Android-watching tech site, is expected to be unveiled to the public at the IFA 2013 consumer electronics show in Berlin, but LG has not released any invitations for an event yet, so take that with a grain of salt.

The first murmurs of a new flagship tablet for LG Electronics only hit the web last week, when a device believed to be an LG branded tablet made its way through the Bluetooth SIG, the special interest group that certifies devices with Bluetooth. A device with design model number LG-V500 and LG-V507L (for LTE possibly) appeared on a file created July 31, 2013 at the Bluetooth SIG.

Rumored specs for the new tablet include a 8.3-inch display, with Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1200, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM. Take these reports with a grain of salt though, as little - so far - has leaked about the device, and LG Electronics has not commented on it either.
