The Sony PlayStation 4 press conference at Gamescom 2013 has come and gone, and in the roughly 90 minutes Sony had the floor the company was able to deliver some solid information about the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and the Vita, as well as whiffing on some points. To wrap it all up, we bring you the pros and cons of the Sony Gamescom press conference.

Pro: Giving the PlayStation 4 a release date- The PlayStation 4 will be launching Nov. 15, planting it right in the middle of the launch window of the Xbox One (and on a Friday no less). Now gamers have a date to look forward to and can stop guessing when they think PlayStation 4 version of games will be appearing.

Con: Lack of blockbuster titles announced- Sony outright teased gamers by announcing that the studios behind God of War, LittleBigPlanet, and Uncharted (aka Sony Santa Monica, Media Molecule, and Naughty Dog, respectively) are working on PlayStation 4 games ... but not providing the names of any specific games from those studios. With the lack of blockbuster games announced at Gamescom, it looks as though it may be a while before the blockbuster Sony exclusives come to the console.

Pro: Amazing indie games lineup- While the big dogs skipped the presentation for the most part, indie games were shown in droves. The PlayStation 4 and Vita will host several games that will show off the talents of several individuals, and games such as Rime and Murasaki Baby have the potential to follow the success of Journey and The Unfinished Swan.

Con: Overall presentation- For some reason, the camera for the livestream would pull back, making the screens that games were shown on fairly obscured. In addition, Sony decided to show off the new menus and options for the PlayStation 4 operating system by having a man in a chair casually scroll through them. There could have at least been some explanation for to what was going on.

Pro: Watch Dog movie Announcement- Watch Dog is one of the top new IP's of the year, and Ubisoft must be very confident if they are already planning a sequel and now a movie. The movie has lent itself well to cinematic trailers, so the game's plot and action has a good chance to be a worthwhile adaption.

Con: Gran Turismo movie Announcement- Unless Gran Turismo 6 has one of the best racing simulation game plots of all time, it is doubtful that this movie will be anything else but a Fast and the Furious knockoff with better looking cars.
