The Windows Phone 8 smartphone market is good business for Microsoft but it's competition for HTC and Nokia.

In September and October 2012, the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 920 made their debuts, respectively.

Aside from sharing the same mobile operating system, are there any other similarities?

Frame Size and Weight:

The Windows Phone 8X's frame is 5.21-inches long with 2.61-inches in width and a depth of 0.40-inches. The Lumia 920 has near-similar numbers with a length of 5.13-inches, 2.79-inch width, and a depth of 0.42-inches.

When it come to the weight, the Lumia 920 is the heaviest at 6.53-ounces compared to the HTC 8X's 4.59-ounces.

Display:

The screen size of the Windows Phone 8X is 4.3-inches with a pixel resolution of 1,280x720 and at 342 pixels per inch (ppi). The Lumia 920's screen is 0.2-inches larger at 4.5-inches and with a pixel resolution of 1,280x768 at 332 ppi.

Internal Storage and Memory:

The Windows Phone 8X comes in a 16GB internal storage model with 1GB of RAM, while the 32GB model and 1GB of RAM is exclusive for the Lumia 920. The RAM is not the only similar feature for both smartphones, as both do not offer a microSD card slot.

Wireless Connectivity:

The wireless connectivity for both Windows Phone smartphones includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), and microUSB version 2,0. Wi-Fi hotspot is available for the Nokia brand.

Camera:

Camera specifications for the rear-facing camera of the Windows Phone 8 devices are the same. It features an eight-megapixel camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash. The rear camera can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps).

The rear-facing camera bears differences. The Lumia 920 has 1.3-megapixels and at 720p at 30 fps. The HTC smartphone appears to have the advantage as it has 2.1-megapixels and records at 1080p.

Chipset and Processor:

The two Windows Phone 8 smartphones utilized the Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor.

Battery:

The Lumia 920 has a battery capacity of 2,000 mAh while the Windows Phone 8X has 1,800 mAh.

Colors:

The Windows Phone 8X is available in blue, black, red, and yellow while the Lumia 920 is offered in black, gray, red, yellow, and white.
