Lance Armstrong has already started his Tour de "Excuses" (French for "apology") according to an Associated Press Report.

The cyclist apologized to the Livestrong Foundation staff Monday afternoon before heading to an interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the interview-- which will air Thursday on the Oprah Winfrey Network-- Armstrong is expected to admit he was in charge of a scheme to win the Tour by using performance-enhancing drugs.

In his discussion with the Livestrong staff, Armstrong reportedly apologized for "letting the staff down" and "putting Livestrong at risk," though he did not directly address performance-enhancing drug use.

In an AP interview on Sunday, Armstrong said, "I'm calm, I'm at ease and ready to speak candidly."

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) started an investigation into Lance Armstrong for his work with the U.S. Postal Service Team after allegations that he was in charge of, "The most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.

The USADA has already levied sanctions on Armstrong's 11 former teammates and accused Armstrong of creating a drug regimen that included steroids, blood-boosters and other drugs.

One of those former teammates, Floyd Landis, has filed a suit against Armstrong for defrauding the U.S. Postal Service. Landis won the 2006 Tour de France, but was stripped of the title for doping.

Despite pending lawsuits and a loss of millions of sponsorship dollars, it is believed that Armstrong is worth $100 million.

Armstrong won the Tour de France a record seven times, but was stripped of his victories for his transgressions.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation was founded by Armstrong in 1997. The nonprofit organization changed its name to the Livestrong Foundation on November 14, 2012 after its namesake resigned from the board of directors ten days earlier.

Latinos Post will have a report on Thursday about Armstrong's comments on OWN.
