While all is not right in the world of the Los Angeles Lakers these days, in basketball superstar Kobe Bryant's world, there appears to be cause for celebration.

Bryant, a five-time NBA Champion and one of the most recognizable figures in sports, and his wife, Vanessa are calling off their divorce.

The decision was announced by Bryant on his Facebook page Friday.

"I am happy to say that Vanessa and I are moving on with our lives together as a family. When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having that someone to share it with. Thank you all for your support and prayers! Much luv, Mamba out," Bryant posted.

Vanessa also confirmed their decision to stay together on her Instagram account, writing, ""We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together."

The former 2007-08 NBA Most Valuable Player's marriage was in trouble after a highly-publicized 2003 sex scandal involving Kobe and a 19-year-old woman that accused him of raping her in a Colorado hotel room; he admitted to having sex with her, but said the sex was consensual. The charges were dropped after the woman balked at going to trial.

The couple--married for 10 years and with two children, Natalia, 9, and Gianna, 6--initially filed for divorce in December 2011 on the ground of irreconcilable differences.

According to Us Magazine, the two were seen together during the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert at Madison Square Garden and on New Year's Eve, and appear to have been on the road to reconciliation prior to the announcement.

On his Facebook, fans welcomed the news.

Ashley Lopez gave Kobe advice. " Vanessa is such a beautiful woman treat her right!" she posted.

Zumbero Cubano wrote, "Kobe all the money and the glory of the world means nothing if your marriage fall apart and your kids have to grow up in a broken family. Treasure your family with your heart."

"Good for you, best decision for your girls. Make it work," wrote David Fry.

Maria Garcia offered her congratulations, writing, "I wish you all the happiness in the universe. Don't listen to all the haters."

Lakers fan Jacob Delgado posted, "Congratulations Kobe. Good to hear you and Vanessa could rekindle your relationship. Now let's get this Laker ship going in the right direction."
