Katherine Webb's rise to fame in one week has been short from spectacular, garnering media attention from cable networks, broadcast, to now Sports Illustrated.

Webb, a former Miss Alabama and Miss USA 2012 contestant, captured the eyes of ESPN commentators during the BCS Championship game last Monday based on her looks and how lucky her boyfriend - Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron - is to have her.

Since then, Webb has been a hot topic on social media and enough for Sports Illustrated to confirm her participation in their annual Swimsuit Issue.

"I was completely dumbfounded. It was so shocking to me because literally overnight I go from being AJ's girlfriend and going to support him in the championship game to being on every major media news outlet," said Webb to Sports Illustrated about getting the call to be part of their Swimsuit Issue. "It's just so surprising to me. I don't know what God has planned, but obviously he's working on something."

According to Webb, the offer from Sports Illustrated served as a wake up call to the serious of events that have occurred since Monday's college football game.

"It just became even more real that this is happening. Every single model wants to be in Sports Illustrated, and I feel extremely blessed to have that opportunity," added Webb.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue will be on sale Feb. 11.
