A New Jersey man has been arrested for offering $5,000 to the New York "cannibal cop" to kidnap a woman they planned to rape, cook and eat.

Michael Vanhise allegedly tried to hire Gilberto Valle, a New York City police officer, to kidnap a woman so Vanhise could torture, rape and kill her.

Vanhise apparently came across Valle while "comparison shopping" for a kidnapper, and prosecutors say he had his eye on several different women and children as potential targets.

Only Valle, it seems, planned to eat anyone.

"Michael Vanhise engaged in conduct that reads like a script for a bad horror film, but fortunately, neither he nor his co-conspirators were able to act out the twisted conspiracies described in the complaint in real-life," said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.

"His arrest is the second in this bone-chilling case, but we are not finished," Bharara continued.

Authorities say Vanhise and Valle negotiated the price and details of their plot last February and March.

"Just make sure she doesn't die before I get her," Vanhise wrote in an email to Valle, according to the complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan.

"No need to worry," replied Valle. "She will be alive. It's a short drive to you. I think I would rather not get involved in the rape. You paid for her. She is all yours and I don't want to be tempted the next time I abduct a girl."

"It is going to be so hard to restrain myself when I knock her out, but I am aspiring to be a professional kidnapper and that's business," Valle wrote, according to the complaint.

"But I will really get off on knocking her out, tying her hands and bare feet and gagging her. Then she will be stuffed into a large piece of luggage and wheeled out to my van."
