The Grimm Brother's fairytale 'Hansel & Gretel' gets a new twist in the upcoming film Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner (Hansel) and Gemma Arteton (Gretel). Following a 10 and a half months delay, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters will hit theaters later this month and will likely appeal to fans of fellow fairy-tales Red Riding Hood and Snow White and the Huntsman.

Action star Renner and British starlet Arteton take the leads of siblings Hansel and Gretel, who have become "the ultimate vigilantes" after nearly getting eaten by a witch in a candy house as children. The duo have become witch hunters, willing to take down the most horrifying witches that dare attack children. Hansel and Gretel become further motivated when they discover that their parents did not abandon them, but were instead killed by witches.

However, their witch-killing days may be numbered if the witches they're hunting down have anything to do with it. Paramount Picture teases, "Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches...their past."

A recently released redband trailer revealed some interesting things about the witch-hunting duo. Top on the list: Hansel and Gretel mean business. They're not your average witch-hunters, but instead rely on gory traps, enormous clubs and thundering guns that can take out anything in sight. Gretel also doesn't let men push around and instead butt-heads them out of her way. Hansel, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have much trouble with the opposite sex.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters hits theaters on January 25, 2013.
