It appears a new actress has shown interest in the highly coveted role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling erotic novel '50 Shades of Grey.' During a recent interview, Australian actress Lauren Watson told reporters that she was "hooked" and had even picked out her choices for the role of Christian Grey.

According to the International Business Times, an online poll by Daily Quirk placed the Aussie in second place behind fan favorite Alexis Bledel for the role of Anastasia. Watson, who has had minor roles in a couple of big Hollywood films, could be a good fit for the role of 21 year-old college student lover of millionaire Christian Grey.

When asked if she had ever read the books by Examiner.com, Watson answered, "Yes, I have read the books! I didn't know anything about them and one of my friends said 'GO! NOW! Get the books and read them today!' I couldn't argue with that! I got them and read them all within the week! I was hooked."

Watson added, "I'm a big fan of Chace Crawford. He could play anyone and it would work for me! I really like Matt Bomer's look and Jessie Pavelka is another top candidate for me when I think of Christian's physical image. I don't think I can pick just one actor!! Whoever ends up with the job as casting director has some tough decisions ahead!"

As if her interview weren't signal enough that the young actress is interested in the role, one look at her twitter stream shows that she is excited to get her name out for the role. Of course she'll have to face some tough competition from some fan favorites, including Alexis Bledel and Nina Dobrev.

Either way, fans and actors alike will have to wait until a decision on casting director is made and the script is written. As of late December, producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti and screenwriter Kelly Marcel have signed on to the project. Casting rumors have swirled the web since Universal Pictures and Focus Films purchased the rights to the book earlier this year.

A release date for '50 Shades of Grey' has yet to be announced.
