'Hunger Games' lead actor Josh Hutcherson may have his eye on a new project if rumors are to be believed. The 20-year-old is reportedly in talks to appear in a film directed by Andrea di Stefano about Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Hutcherson, who finished wrapping the filming of the second 'Hunger Games' film earlier this month, would play a young Irish surfer named Nick who falls in love with the niece of the notorious drug kingpin, Deadspin reported. According to the report, the film will also feature 45-year-old Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro.

Deadspin reported that the film will begin production in Panama in March.

The star of 'The Hunger Games' plays one of the lead roles as Peeta Mellark, who alongside fellow District 12 tribute Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), wins the 74th Annual Hunger Games. The son of a baker, Peeta falls in love with Katniss but must compete for her affections against her long-time friend Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth).

In the upcoming sequel, Peeta and Katniss will head on the Victors Tour of Panem before heading back to the capitol for the 75th Annual Hunger Games-also known as the Quarter Quell.

Hutcherson and Lawrence have been featured in photos leaked on the web of them acting in several scenes on the Hawaii set of the second film, 'Catching Fire.' The two, both long-time actors, shot to international fame along their co-star Liam Hemsworth when their first film hit the big screen earlier this year.

The second film in the series, 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' will be released in theaters on November 21, 2013.
