A petition has been filed to have Piers Morgan deported from the United States.

Morgan, host of CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" and former judge on "American's Got Talent," has garnered criticism from people stating he's violating American's Second Amendment rights, namely the topic of gun laws.

The official text of the Second Amendment is, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn., which led to the deaths of 26 children and school staffers, Morgan and a roundtable of guests on his CNN talk show to discuss gun laws in the US, leading to a heated debate with a guest.

After the events on his CNN show, a petition was created on the White House website to deport Morgan.

The White House allows people to create petitions on an array of topics and if a petition reaches 25,000 signatures, then the Obama administration has to provide a response to the matter.

A couple petitions to deport Morgan were created on Dec. 21 by "Kurt N" from Austin, Texas. His petition, titled, "Deport British Citizen Piers Morgan for Attacking 2nd Amendment," claims the CNN host "engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment."

Furthermore, the petition noted, "We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."

In just four days, over 39,000 signatures were collected, passing the 25,000 required for a White House response. The Obama administration has yet to comment on the petition, but will have to soon.

However, a second petition was created, even three days earlier than Dec. 21, by "Anthony J" to also send Morgan back to Great Britain. Unlike Kurt's petition, Anthony's has garnered over 4,800 signatures.

In regards to the petition, Morgan stated on Twitter that he doesn't care about it. He did tweet a link to the petition urging people to sign it.
