The BlackBerry 10 will be officially unveiled at the Research in Motion's (RIM) January 30 launch event, but that doesn't mean that we won't have a complete picture of both devices the company plans to show off through unofficial channels weeks in advance.
Thanks to Crackberry Forums user, we now have another piece of the puzzle: a blurry picture of the Blackberry 10 L-Series from a Christmas party in Canada (via Ubergizmo). Rumors suggest that the L-Series sports a 4.2-inch screen with 1280x768 resolution. Features include BlackBerry Balance, which encrypts work data and separates personal use content on the upcoming smartphone series, and BlackBerry Flow, a suite of new gesture controls.
Just last week, a Vietnamese tech site known as Tinhte.vn released a video allegedly showcasing an L-series device.
Although no price point has been announced a Canadian carrier known as Rogers has placed the Blackberry 10 all-touch smartphone on its reserve program. RIM also launched its BlackBerry 10 Enterprise Server earlier this week, as it doubles down on its suite of productivity offerings.
"At RIM, we've seen the power of our enterprise mobility management solution first-hand, and we are thrilled to share BlackBerry 10 directly with these leading organizations," says RIM CIO Robin Bienfaint.
In recent months, Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung's Galaxy S3 have dominated the handset market, with the iPhone 5S and Galaxy S4 just in the horizon. Blackberry is facing an uphill battle, and it will be fascinating to watch the war unfold. This may very well be the once-dominant tech companies' last chance to take back lost market share.
