From the (lack of) amount of chatter Rockstar has let out about Grand Theft Auto 5, it seems like the developer is barely interested in its own impending masterpiece. But lo and behold, Rockstar isn't just concerned about its current-gen offering, in fact, the developer is already looking to make splashes in the future.

Rockstar is currently looking for a programmer to help them conquer new lands.

In a job posting for a programmer who can prove his or her worth, Rockstar states, "This is an exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge architectures and high performance systems for current and next-gen platforms."

It would be foolish to think a developer as influential as Rockstar hasn't received a dev kit from both Microsoft and Sony containing next-gen specifics. Rockstar is one of the few game developers to have a franchise that can make gamers go out and buy a console specifically for it. Rockstar can easily demand the talent needed to polish up the current-gen offering of Grand Theft Auto 5, but it seems the company is also concerned about getting to work on the future.

It's clear Rockstar games is looking ahead to conquering the next generation of home consoles with a new game engine to make their raunchy, plot-drive, open-world adventures seem more realistic. This is no official confirmation about any next-gen offerings from the developer, but the job posting is an official acknowledgement that Rockstar is already thinking of the future.

Rockstar has already developed a new game engine just for Grand Theft Auto 5, which allows for greater draw distances, which allow for Grand Theft Auto 5 to have a greater scope.
