Motorola has just introduced a new budget-friendly device over in India with the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition.

The handset is almost identical to the Moto G 2015 that came out early this year, and for an estimated sales price of about $220, the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition should be a dandy device to consider, particularly for the ones on the prowl for a new phone that isn’t hard on the pocket.

The device offers some small upgrades compared to the original Moto G 2015. That includes an octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC, which is made up of two quad-core ARM Cortex A53 clusters that are clocked at 1.5 and 1.0 GHz, respectively.

Other features included in the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded through microSD up to 32 GB, a 13 MP main camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera and a 2470 mAh removable battery. Unlike the Moto G 2015, this variant comes with support for quick charging.

Up front, folks will get a 5-inch HD (1280x720 pixel) display that is amply protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. The device also boasts of an IP67 rating, meaning that the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition is dust and water resistant as well.

Eventual owners can use up to two SIM cards with the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition, which will come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. However, with Motorola aggressively rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to date, the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition could be in line as well to get that OS bump.

For those who are picky when it comes to the outer design, the Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition will be available in black or white color variants.

Another bonus is offered for consumers who may be planning to get the device. With the season seeing a lot of special offers involving the trade-in of old phones, Motorola India apparently has one going on as well.

Motorola India is accepting trade-in of old phones that can offer discounts of up to Rs 6,000 (roughly close to $90), which can somehow bring down the SRP to about $130.

Other than that, Android Authority bares a couple more good news. That includes word that 100 lucky buyers will receive 100% cash back, and that Airtel subscribers will be eligible for double data upon purchase.

The Moto G 2015 Turbo Edition is likely already available at Flipkart. This comes after NDTV bares that the latest Motorola device went on sale Thursday.
