Now, you can catch 'em all--on your iPhone or iPad.
The Pokémon Company announced this week that they are bringing to iOS users via a new app that will allow people to browse through hundreds of the iconic Pokémon characters, including checking out their stats and other information on them.
The app, called the official Pokédex app, contains information on more than 640 different Pocket Monsters, including the classic Pikachu character, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, and more.
In addition, according to MTV's Multi-Player blog, the app would also allow users to see such information as how to evolve a Pokémon, where specific Pokémon can be found, and what types of attacks an individual Pokémon is weak against.
Once a Pokémon is selected, a detailed 360-degree image of the Pokémon appears with a full encyclopedia entry, its name, height and weight, type, ability, and moves it can learn.
Each Pokémon's entry includes the locations where the Pokémon can be found in Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2.
In essence, the new app is supposed to mimic the one used by the main character Ash Ketchum in the famous anime series and as seen in the "Pokémon" video game series, which has grown to worldwide fame since 1996.
The initial Pokédex, called the "Unova Pokédex," will cost users $1.99, and gives users a listing of Pokémon numbers 494 through 647. However, users will have to pay $5.99 for each of the other Pokémon regions, from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, which includes the original first 151 Pokémon such as Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Mew.
The app can be found by typing in "Pokédex" on the Apple App Store. The app can also be switched from English to French, Italian, Japanese, German, and Spanish.
