Kim Kardashian's sister Kendall Jenner recently shared a snap on Instagram that appeared to show a woman, who looks like her, sans clothes on a horse. However, as it turns out, it wasn't Jenner lying on the back of the horse in her birthday suit.
"Because it looked exactly as you might imagine a photo of Kendall Jenner naked on a horse would, people assumed it was, in fact, Kendall," Mashable noted.
"The picture was a shot of a French model named Elisa Meliani, who Instagrammed the photo a year ago, and posted on Jenner's account without attribution," Mashable went on. "Meliani was flattered by Jenner's catfishing, so all's well in this particular incident of a celebrity using someone else's work uncredited."
Apparently, Jenner's fans approved the shot as it had since gained a million likes. Perhaps the model may consider going out and doing a similar shot herself and was just testing fan reactions?
Meanwhile, in the wake of the clarification about the woman in the photo, interest in Meliani may probably shoot upwards as the model had been doing a nude photo series for quite some time - which means the horse photo is not the only shot of her without a scrap of fabric shielding her body.
In an interview with Point Seven Mach in September this year, it was revealed that Meliani has been "born and bred in Paris" and is still based there despite her many travels.
Apparently, the model does know how to ride a horse and actually counts horse riding as one of her hobbies. The photo of her on the horse was taken by David Bellemere, who also happens to be her partner.
Jenner has not offered any caption or explanation on why she posted Meliani's photo. Could she perhaps be thinking about recreating a similar shot?
In other news, Jenner has been posting rather playful snaps of herself on Instagram, with the latest one being that of her in a pink wig. She had also posed clad in a hammerhead shark costume for an advent calendar shoot, MailOnline noted.
"The KUWTK's outfit skimmed her bottom to expose the full length of her lean limbs which were elongated with a pair of black stiletto-heeled sandals," the publication described. "It was also slightly sheer, unveiling her black bikini which she wore beneath it to protect her modesty."
That calendar may probably be a hit with KUWTK fans.
