The Samsung Galaxy S7 is yet again a hot topic as Android fans expect much from the second best-selling smartphone brand.

Fortunately for fans of the South Korean giant, new Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors hint at the return of one of the biggest missing features from past models - the Micro SD card.

Much is expected of the Galaxy S7, since according to Know Your Mobile, the firm hasn't had much sales success when compared to their flagship sales in 2014 and 2015. Meanwhile, Apple continues to be a top contender with every iPhone launch.

According to The Inquisitr, the latest Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors involve bringing back the microSD slot, probably the biggest feature missing from the S6. Add that to the list of other amazing specs rumored to be included in the smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S7 could make the best android Flagship Device of 2016.

Gizmodo first made the report, via an Italian news outlet, about the external storage news.

The option, however, remains controversial since external storage is said to make the phone slower. While smartphone users could expand their storage substantially, critics say companies are able to hold back on built-in storage with the phones, which could possibly happen in the Samsung Galaxy S7.

ZDnet sat down with a Xiaomi representative and apparently, the rep said the reason that companies removed microSD cards was to increase profits.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Micro SD card report comes amid speculations that the Korean brand could be dropping its retail price.

Meanwhile, other Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors say that there will be a 5.2-inch smartphone with a flat screen as well as a Galaxy S7 Edge, which could have a larger 5.7 inches, allowing the brand to compete with the iPhone's two different size offerings.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is also rumored to adopt USB-C technology as an alternative to the micro-USB technology, allowing for faster data transfer.

As for Android Marshmallow plans, Samsung has not made any official comments on Android M plans.

Perhaps another promising Samsung Galaxy S7 update is that the quality of the camera will be significantly improved. In a recent conference the company discussed new and improved Britecell camera technology, which allows for brighter and more clear photos taken.

Another word on the grapevine is that Samsung wants Sony's IMX300 23MP sensor, as seen in the Sony Xperia Z5. The Korean giant is chatting with the Japanese brand regarding the camera, according to rumors via Chinese social network Weibo.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected and rumored for release in January since the company has reportedly been consistent with the time of their release for every new Galaxy S flagship model.

Samsung has not announced an official release date for the phone yet.
